John McCain is down in pretty much every poll. Did he do enough in tonight's debate to make a race out of this election? What was the most interesting part of the debate?

When both presidential canidates were asked what their plan was for the health care system. Senator Obama responded by saying he believed that it should be expanded and reduced. He wants for all Americans to be able to get a plan. He wishes to reduce the prices of plans so that it is more resonable for the average American. On the other hand Senator McCain did not answer the question directly. He responded by bringing up the issue of increasing obesity. Then he lightly when over the idea of get a $5,000 tax refund so that Americans can choose whichever health care plan the want. Obama responded by stating that health care plans cost an average of $12,00.
i agree with what you are saying.... mccain is not telling what he is planning to do for anything he is saying what he thinks obama wants to do and agian his comments are all lies which obama keeps pointing out.
also with the whole mudslinging of the campains was a resiculous back and forth... obviously they are going to be putting comercials that activly bad talks the other party. also as we learned in class just because the obama/mccain campain doesnt put out the comercials doesnt mean that some 3rd party wont and i dont think it is any different for that senator who talked about the mccain and palin rallies (which were disgusting with the comments of "terrorist" and "kill him").
i think it is just frustrating

I do not think that McCain did enough tonight to take the lead in the polls. Both candidates I felt danced around questions a little bit, but McCain definitely did it more. Honestly, the debate frustrated me a lot. Although debates are about attacking the opposite side, I felt as though each candidate was trying a bit too hard to make the other side look REALLY bad. I don't feel as if I know either of the candidates sides any better and I actually don't like them both even more. Keeping in mind that I'm a Republican because I share their same morals, I still don't think I would vote for either candidate even if I could. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens.
i definatly hope john mcccain did enough...but then again i am a definate liberal and major obama supporter but since i can not vote im gonna have to wait and and do my part
I agree...I really do hope that John McCain pulled through, I just can't be so sure. I have a feeling people are just going to be torn after this debate, I guess that could be a good thing for McCain.
With Obama leading in almost all of the key battleground states, I don't see what McCain did tonight as being able to change that significantly. I expected him to come out firing and really attack Obama. The usual "my programs are better because..." approach obviously hasn't worked so far, so to see him do more of the same was a little surprising. I think he got close to really attacking Obama but it never really went anywhere. I support Obama and I really have to believe that unless something major happens, I see no reason the recent trends shouldn't continue and lead to Obama winning this election.
in my opinion, i dont think john mccain did enough to make a race of it, or to even climb back into contention. i dont think mccain can win unless, barack obama does something so ridiculously dumb he will cost himself the election, or mccain steals it from him. jsut like bush did in 2000. mccain did not even come close to do doing enough he didnt say anything of substance just abcked out of questions and tried criticizing obama instead of giving an answer. obama did the same but to a lesser extent. id be interesting to see what happens in less than a month.
in tonights debate i feel that obama once again owned mccain. i feel that both candidates said the same thing from previous debates...only difference was a question about how the candidates felt about the negative ads and not doing enough to keep their supporters from launching personal attacks. and i wasnt really a fan about the plumber john/bob "JEDADIAH"(snl)examples....
